I think I came across your Tumblr independent of your fics. Almost positive, cause I have a very clear memory of scrolling along and then frantically scrolling back up cause Tumblr had done one of those “in your orbit” things and it was one of your posts and I mentally was all: hold the phone isn’t that the person who writes No Righteous Path, the fic I’m currently reading one tab over? *slams follow button*

I LOVE this sort of kismet! I don’t really publicize myself on Ao3 with a link back here too often. Several people have said they searched my username from Ao3 here hoping it was the same and following me. I adore that! Talking to people on both platforms and seeing them around, like you, means we’re pals! 😀

I can’t remember which one of us followed who first, to be honest, but definitely it was because I thought you were an awesome writer, and I wanted to bask in your talent :)

I TOTALLY REMEMBER THIS!!!! I followed you first. At the time, I was only following like, 10 people on Tumblr and I followed you and sent you an ask gushing about your fics. And you went all “SAME HAT!!!!” And that was the beginning of the end.

*slides closer* I miss Kaidan and Ianto. Any chance you have a snippet of Normandy you could share?

Oh, sure, why not? 😀 I really am still working on researching this, I swear.

There’s scraping on the other end of the line and Anderson’s voice fills the receiver next. “Good news?”

“Yes, sir,” Shepard confirms. “Plenty of stuff way above my paygrade.”

“You and Alenko get up here. Give me a full report.”

Shepard eyes Kaidan again, still scribbling furiously. “You’d better come down instead, Anderson. Kaidan’s got a hot line.”

The phone clicks and goes dead. Anderson is on his way.

He appears with Bailey minutes later, and without preamble says, “what do you have?”

“Think we go ‘em, sir,” Shepard answers, handing over their notes. Kaidan is still listening to line, confirming the repeat of the broadcast he’d overheard. “These are the rest of the codes we’ve been trying to break for months. If we’ve done it, and I think we have, then we’re right about Midway. The Japanese are coordinating an attack out there, as we thought before. I think what we have here are the ship movements and positions for the assault.”

“Big news,” Bailey says, accepting the papers from Anderson to flip through. “Hackett needs to see this. We’ve got plenty of vessels out there.”

At long last, Kaidan removes his earphones and passes along his notes for Shepard to confirm. “Apparently they think that the Enterprise and Hornet are the only two carriers we got out there.”

“I do enjoy upsetting their expectations,” Anderson says. “You did good, boys. I’ll take it from here.”

They leave and Shepard and Kaidan are alone again. Kaidan begins to shake.

Hey JJ. I want to say that I’m catching up on SPN this season, and I am supremely upset about Mick dying. By some bitch ass Ketch no less! How did you deal with it? ]:

Well, lemme tell you something. I have a treatment plan for when SPN does things like this. The first thing I did was scream obscenities at my television for a few minutes. Then I went to the kitchen and opened the fridge. Grabbed me a Modelo Negro, and drank that. Then I sat on the couch pouting and ignored the fact that Mick and his impressive facial hair were gone. Thanks for asking!
