I am so fucking tired of the “walk it off” mentality. “The show must go on” bullshit that permeates (at the very least) American culture. I hate people lauding and holding in high esteem people who don’t take care of themselves. Athletes playing on broken bones or harmful sprains, singers with the flu barely making it through their 3 hour shows, the average Joe going to work when they’re hurt or sick or in some way mentally or physically unhealthy.
It’s not something to praise. Telling people they’re awesome for overworking themselves or killing themselves over their jobs or expectations of them is really freaking sick. It’s the height of a pathetic, capitalistic, abusive mindset that’s permeated country and culture. And nearly everybody supports this. Everyone praises this behavior.
Why are we SO GODDAMN HAPPY when people don’t take care of themselves? When people ignore their own needs to benefit everyone except themselves. Why is it considered selfish to take care of yourself? Why are you only awesome if you’re suffering for something that doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things?
Listen. There’s nothing good or awesome about working yourself into an early grave. There’s nothing heroic about it. Not really.
Fucking rest. Cancel your plans. Call out of work for the day. Don’t “walk it off” for shit’s sake.

Summary:
In the years following his mother’s death in a house fire, Dean Winchester begins to develop OCD as a way to cope with the loss. After more than a decade without a diagnosis, his symptoms grow more severe.
