Fic authors deserve more credit.

Story time: I started reading a book about 23 hours ago and just finished it. Also in that time, I slept for 10 hours, spent time with family, was at work, etc. Anyway, I enjoyed the book (Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda,) but it felt like it flew by. So after I finished I looked up the word count because what are pages? Pages are meaningless. I only function in word counts anymore.

The estimate I found was 58,580. My immediate reaction was “oh, that’s why. That’s nothing!” But what a shitty response. Because no. That’s not nothing. That’s a whole. Damn. Book. An entire novel! And fic authors regularly bust out 30k, 50k, 100k, 150k words. AND THEY DO IT FOR FREE. WHILE WORKING AND LIVING THEIR LIVES.

So anyway, thank your favorite fic author today because they deserve it. Because they’re amazing. They’re the MVPs.

Currently my absolute favorite Destiel song in my mind is Josh Groban’s “Bigger Than Us.” I’ve never really heard songs and thought of ships before, but that song? Wow.

OMC, yes. It’s so perfect for them. Also, I could listen to Josh Groban sing forever. His buttery smooth voice…it’s just…just yes. He’s definitely an all-time favorite of mine.

Saaammmee. Always good to find another fan. When his first CD came out, it was actually my Abuelita that discovered him and bought his CD for me. Been hooked ever since.

She’s also the one who turned me on to Phantom of the Opera (and Broadway in general) and Tolkien (and really fantasy in general), so I owe a lot to her 😁

My aunt bought me his first CD for my birthday and I was WELL into my Broadway obsession by then. I went to college on a voice scholarship! 😚 I’ve seen every one of his concerts when he comes here (minus Bridges thanks to an emergency where my ticket went to waste.) And I love Josh! He’s a huge nerd and so funny and talented and the whole freaking package! His voice is one in a million. Imma listen to his albums back to back right now lol!

First of all, I now have a deep need to hear you sing and know if you ever write music and do you play instruments too and what kind of music do you like to sing and these are the things I need to know.

Secondly, I’m so jealous cause I’ve never gotten to see him in concert 😭

Also, the musical/Broadway/geek obsession started young. When I said my grandmother got me into those things, I didn’t mean recently lol. She bought me the LOTR books in 4th? grade (ish) and introduced me to Broadway around junior high.

You can absolutely hear me sing! I posted something years ago, dug around and found it for you! Right Here! I play the piano, and I like pretty much every kind of music! Most of the time, I sing opera, musicals, and jazz. In Japan, I was in a punk band, though! 😀

My grandmother got me into musicals when I was around 11, but I had to get myself into sci-fi and fantasy. 

How did we first meet? I think Mass Effect was involved, but then yarn was tossed in as well as writing, oh and then there was the mom thing and … well, I was a goner. :P I may not remember all the details these days, but I do know it was a great decision to start following you!

We share a lot of the same hobbies and having another nerdy mom friend really means the world to me! Plus, the YARN! I cherish it! And I’ve taught Nerdler how to use the winder because she LOVES making yarn cakes hahahahaha! I’m so incredibly glad that we found each other!

I came across your writing on AO3 first. Protect and Serve was recommended by another writer I like (don’t remember which now, though) and I read it, loved it, read your other fics, then followed you on tumblr :D and I feel very privileged to get to read your writing :D

Almost positive, cause I have a very clear memory of scrolling along and then frantically scrolling back up cause Tumblr had done one of those “in your orbit” things and it was one of your posts and I mentally was all: hold the phone isn’t that the person who writes No Righteous Path, the fic I’m currently reading one tab over? *slams follow button*

I LOVE this sort of kismet! I don’t really publicize myself on Ao3 with a link back here too often. Several people have said they searched my username from Ao3 here hoping it was the same and following me. I adore that!
