Okay, now that we have a moment of pointless filler with Nick, I can take some time to hurt for Sam and Dean and Castiel all mourning for Jack in different ways. Dean being the, “I was too hard on him, and I’ll never forgive myself for that, so I’m going to take him on the adventure of his life,” dad.

Sam being the quiet, “let’s figure this out and get him help until the last bitter moment if we have to,” dad.

And Castiel being the, “we need to prepare ourselves if the worst happens to our son,” dad.

Three of the stages of grief represented really well.

Perhaps the only thing Bucklemming got right in this episode is that Dean, and probably only Dean, would be the one to take someone on a “bucket list death tour trip.” 

And yes, it’s also fitting that he’s teaching Jack to drive Baby. 1) Because his dad taught Dean the same way, and 2) Dean probably taught Sam the same way, and 3) Jack ain’t gonna bitch about the music, and 4) Dean’s trying to help Jack feel good, and nothing makes Dean feel better than driving Baby.

It’s absolutely adorable that Dean brought Jack a glass of milk along with that artery clogging meat sandwich.

What I like about this episode so far is that Bucklemming is giving us a bit of a breather with the horrible pain and angst with Jack every few minutes to a yawning emotionless info dump on Nick just being a drunk murderer who we don’t care at all about. I don’t know about you, but the breaks sure help my stress levels!

I know this show does stretch credulity as part of the genre, but something that always pulls me out of the narrative is when one of them end up in a hospital and get super expensive treatment like CT scans or MRI’s without first presenting insurance (Sam and Dean with stolen insurance aside.) You know who wouldn’t do that with a possible indigent patient? The entire American hospital system.

Oh. FFS already, Bucklemming? Come on. If someone confesses to murder, harm to self, or harm to another, that breaks the freaking confessional and the priest is obligated to report it. Just like a therapist or anyone else bound by confidentiality. It doesn’t fucking extend to harm to self or others.

Which. They could have learned with about three seconds of a Google search.
