I know I should agree, because there is no reason to bring him back, as you said, but I just couldn’t help but get excited. I had to pause it just to calm down. So my movie critic guy living in my head thinks it’s bad but my fangirl side is freaking out, possibly dying of a heart attack.

I will say this : regardless of my feelings and any ranting I do about anything on the show, I absolutely support people liking what they like. If this plot point makes you happy, then I’m perfectly happy for you because that’s someone getting pleasure out of it, and I love SPN, so when I can’t enjoy parts of it, I am glad that someone else does and can give it the squealing it deserves!

Hey I’ve been out of the supernatural loop for the past month because ~high school~ but are they seriously bringing Lucifer back? Like really? What’s the sitch?

Well, buckle up and feel lucky you’ve got school to distract you from this mess! It will probably be better to take in lots of episodes at once so you don’t end up grinding your damn teeth for an entire week waiting to see what train wreck you see next.

ANYWAY, yes, it looks like they’re bringing Lucifer back. In a reveal at the end of this episode, which was probably supposed to be dramatic, but in reality made my dash explode with the gnashing of teeth, pulling of hair, and rending of garments.

Nick basically became a freaking serial killer and got so whiny about his love/hate relationship with murder, that Lucifer woke up in the Empty and then, fade to black.

Anyway, the next episode airs on my birthday next week, and I pray to Ye Olde God of Show Writing, Meredith Glynn to either sweep up some of the mess, or at least just ignore it until Yockey or Perez can handle it, since they’re used to mopping up after BL and their shitshow episodes.

The sitch is that Eugenie loves Lucifer and is married to the Decision Maker of the show, so she gets to have her way. And her “way” happens to be Lucifer. She’s his biggest (and only) advocate at this point, so instead of that arc reaching its best, natural conclusion, we get a dead horse brought back more than once to sadly be beaten to death again.

Dear BuckLemming. Please stop. Please. Just stop. If you really love Lucifer like your giant hard-on seems to indicate, then let him rest! He was at peace in the Empty, a peace he so richly earned and deserved, and now you’re dragging him back to make everyone suffer again? *Do you feel like a competent writing team yet?* Sincerely, SPN Fandom

This was a much kinder way of saying it, thank you. 😀

They’ve stretched a lot in this show before, but bringing back Lucifer again way past his expiration date is totally beating a dead horse. There is literally no reason to have him back. Even if they have him go up against Michael again, AU style, it weakens the drama of Jack being able to go up against him. Lucifer/Nick is creating a whole second plot arc totally divorced from the main story (which is pretty freaking good so far by itself), and fracturing the narrative for no reason. I mean, fine, this is Supernatural, it’s known for bringing people back, but maybe now is the time to learn that some characters need to stay dead.

And to be perfectly blunt, I have 0% doubt that it’s Bucklemming throwing their clout around to get Lucifer back since they’ve always had such a hardon for Mark P.

I freaking hope that Lucifer fails to fight his way out of the empty. Maybe he’s able to get a message to Nick. Maybe he’s able to “wake up” other archangels. But I hope the other writers creatively come up with an unexpected plot twist that ends Lucifer’s existence for good, and maybe bring back a different archangel instead *crosses fingers that we’ll see Gabriel again in the empty* (ooooh, seeing Raphael again could be very interesting, too – lots of potential there, especially since it would be pretty unexpected).

Or, God could step in again because of so much sudden commotion in the empty. Like, maybe the equilibrium of life itself is disturbed if too many beings return to Earth from the empty. And God must step in before things get totally out of hand.

And if Lucifer doesn’t come back, I guarantee that TFW will kill Nick after discovering he’s turned into a serial killer. That, or Nick will just lose all hope and commit suicide. Where things are at right now, I just really want Lucifer gone for good.

At this point, I don’t even care what Deus Ex Machina they choose to use, as long as they use one. In Yockey we trust, amen.

I deeply apologize for the wank, y’all. I’m just so sorely tired of seeing such bad writing ruin such good writing. I’ll never give up on the wonderful parts of SPN because I’m the last person in the world to let evil triumph over good, but I’d really prefer a whole season of solid episodes, which could easily happen if only BL were kicked out. But we’re having to flush part of the season down the toilet because two writers refuse to do what’s best for the show, and instead focus on their tired-ass lovechild of a dead story arc that wants nothing more than to die. And DID die. And then got brought back to do more damage.

Eugenie has personally advocated for bringing Lucifer back and she believes him to be a redeemable character so this is 100% true

And since she is married to Dude With Power Over the Show, she’ll get her damn way even if it literally ruins the whole show. Which it is. Which is sad because the show is fantastic, except for her and Brad’s episodes! That’s what pisses me off so much.

Also, wow, she’s turned Nick into a serial killer and that’s how he gets Lucifer back. How in the fuck is that redeemable?

Hold the freak up. Was that spell they used on Jack the same one Michael had been using to test monsters????

WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT????

heck… was it? I’m not at home so I can’t rewind and check, but if it is, could Michael have maybe asked Sergei what he wanted? And now Sergei is doing Michael’s bidding?

OMG that makes so much sense why Dean was having these PTSD flashbacks! He was having them when they were talking about archangel grace and about Sergei!

That’s what I was thinking, and why I thought about Michael having gotten the spell from Sergei. Dean’s flashbacks when they talked about him, just like Nick when names familiar to Lucifer came up.
