How often do you write?

Pretty much daily for now. At work I get a good bit of downtime until the peak season starts in December, so I can write on my lunch break and when I’m waiting for work. I also write before I go to bed most days.

Do you have a routine for writing?

Not really? I mean, I’ve sort of fallen into a routine with evening and weekend writing, but it’s not something I planned. At home I like to get myself a nice drink and snack and put my laptop in my bed to relax and write with Netflix or a movie on in the background.

What’s your favourite kinks/tropes/pairing?

Golly, that’s a big one! lol

Pairings : mShenko, Destiel, Sabriel, Dody, Denny, DreamHunter, etc. I just ship everyone!

Tropes : Love me some hurt/comfort, mutual pining, enemies to lovers, wing kink, healthy BDSM, all manner of AU’s. Lots and lots!

Do you have a favourite fic of yours?

I don’t really go back and read my fics very often, so it’s difficult to pick one. However, Protect and Serve has a lot of me in it. Burn Down the Sky is also at the top of my list. They’re also two of my most popular fics, so I’m getting the impression that people like to read about what goes on in my head. 😀

Your fic with the most kudos?

That would be An Accidental Incubus. It sits at 1,827 kudos. I tend to get more comments than kudos, truthfully. In fact, Protect and Serve has 3,339 comments. 😀

Anything you don’t like about your writing?

I don’t have anything that I don’t like, per se, but I’ve got a lot that I need to work on. I repeat words and phrases way too much. That’s probably my biggest struggle.

Now something you do like?

I kind of like everything else? lol Well, I’d say what I like the best are two things. 1) My ability to turn a phrase in almost every chapter that never fails to make @ltleflrt angry. That’s a writing goal of mine. And 2) my ability to keep the characters in character. One of the more frequent comments that I consistently get is that people feel that no matter what AU I write, the characters are always believable and in character. It’s the kind of comment that honestly makes me feel better than any other.

BRAIN: New chemical? What chemical?
ME: Happy chemical.
BRAIN: Did you say sleepy chemical?
ME: No, it’s happy chemical.
BRAIN: Ooh! Sleepy chemical!
ME: No! H.a.p.p.y. c.h.e.m.i.c.a.l. We got shit to do, no sleeping.
BRAIN: OKAY! SLEEPY CHEMICAL! GOT IT!

Today I went to my primary care doctor for something I really didn’t want to, but didn’t have a choice. I really need to get back on my psychiatric meds. I was hoping that I could wait until I possibly found some affordable health insurance, but I’ve had more than one panic attack in the last week, and one this morning just because I had so much anxiety about the simple act of waking up. I’ve missed work because of OCD and panic a few times, and that can’t happen because I don’t get paid time off on this contract.

I can’t afford a psychiatrist, so I went to my PCP. I told him that I was seeing him because I didn’t have insurance and couldn’t afford a specialist. And this man didn’t ask me a single invasive thing. He asked what I’d been diagnosed with, how long ago, and what medications I’d taken in the past. I told him the ones I preferred, and he asked, “what dose?” And wrote them right up.

And then he gave me a pharmacy discount card, and even went online to research where the prescriptions would be the cheapest, and printed me some coupons as well.

I’d never thought to ask about discount cards they might have, or even if they knew where to get these medications on the cheap, and I’ll tell you what. My doctor saved me more than $300 today.

I felt so much better just getting this stuff and him being so supportive. My needle’s been in the red for a few weeks, not gonna lie, and I feel so much better just having this taken care of, and with a lot less struggle than I was anticipating.
